house 33/28s_w_arch
Description Public and private zones are interwoven over three levels-opening up, encapsulating, and divided by a three-dimensional skin. This is defined and experienced as one single space. In contrast to the natural surroundings and orientated towards views into the Rhine Valley and the Black Forest, the house is in-between inside and outside throughout the seasons which fluctuate levels of light and shadow. The house is an attempt to redefine living and life as an ongoing process. The structure, a steel space frame, and the body, a concrete shell, are covered in materials rather than colours. Using natural aluminium and glass for the windows, redwood facades and zinc for the roof, colour alternates throughout the day, adopting and reflecting the surrounding light, the trees and the sky.
