Villa ChristofferChristian Teller
Description Background: Torekov is a small but fashionable old coast town in Sweden. It used to be a village for fishermen but is today mainly used as a resort area with a population that more than triples during holidays. VILLA CHRISTOFFER is a 120 m2 summerhouse for a young Swedish business man who lives and works in London. The client wanted a house that would respect the quiet exteriours of the surrounding houses and still provide a comfortable and quite modern interiour with many built-in solutions. The house has two guest rooms and an existing guest house on the site offers additional accommodation. The approach was to minimize the number of interiour walls to make most of the 120 m2 and focus on a few very distinct project 'anchors': A double wall with hall, seating (chocolate brown leather cushions will be placed in the recess), shelving and wardrobe. An interiour step in the house to use the curvature of the building site as a room definition. And a kitchen/dining unit to bridge that interiour step in a single sculpture. The kitchen unit was designed especially for the project and molded in fiber concrete. The 120x310 cm large dining table is made of vertical plywood with polyurethan lacquer. .......................................... Budget 2.3 mio SEK. Construction year: 2006. Entrepreneur: Wiwa Bygg. Client: Christoffer Abramson, London Responsible architects: Christian Teller & Hanna Svensson
