Description
This project is a return on a house, 20 years after its construction. The customers wanted a room in direct connection with the heart of the house, being able to be used at the same time to receive the visitors and to live there daily. The extension was done on the Southern frontage, with the site of the initial terrace, like a graft connecting on the kitchen and the hall. The access to the house was reconsidered. Space is made dynamic, the courses internal and external at the house are reconfigured; the customers now have 40 luminous m², a "part with living" being able to open very largely on the garden at the beautiful days, alternate with traditional "the veranda"; the architect was attentive with the sunning and natural ventilation. Glazed surface was balanced with the parts full barded with Red Cedar: sights cut out, of the framings chosen on the landscape take place. Technically, the framework drink was selected for reasons of simplicity of implementation and speed of execution. A great attention was given to the thresholds and the anchoring of this extension compared to the ground: shifts, undulation, slips.
